Songbird Tribute Reveal: Gift to the Author

As I prepare for today's Songbird Tribute/Etsy reveal, I wanted to show something else off. After all, this is my blog, and I can do that...  

So!  As a way to commemorate having her first novel published, I made this set for author L.S. Baird. 

(And because she's my friend, and getting published is a big deal. At least, I think so!)

...Using lavender/grey coin pearls, fire-polished Czech glass, and silver filigree.

So, there you have it... A One-of-a-Kind necklace to celebrate something happy and worthy of commemoration.

What I Did Over the Weekend...

So, this weekend, I had to answer a very specific question: What do I do when staring at a bright computer screen is too much for my eyes?

Apparently, my answer is to write in my notebook instead.

And what did I write in my notebook?  Well, I worked on creating another language.

This language is actually connected to Landus Fantasticus, the major location for the novel connected with my Etsy store stories.  

In particular, it's the language of Mazade.  

(And I now know what Mazade means!  It's a shortened version from Mazzan Zade, meaning "beautiful land."  Similarly, the language is Mazadeki, a shortened version of Mazzan Deki, meaning "beautiful [spoken] words.")

...It is ridiculous how relaxing and soothing I find conjugating verbs.

After a weekend of rest, my eyes are (mostly) back to normal.  Now if only this headache would go away...

1. My eyes are doing much better!  Hurray! Still tired, but better.  Just wanted to update that things are looking up, in case people were worried.  :)

I am in the middle of preparing (slowly) for today's Songbird Tribute reveal.

...And I'm tired.

There is no reason for this picture, except that I like it.
...I suppose I could make some sort of sun-going-down-being-tired
analogy, but that's probably a stretch.

And so, this is just a quick post to say that there will not be a reveal on Saturday and Sunday.  I really, really want to do them, but I am tired and need to rest my eyes.  

I know that might sound like a lame excuse, but I actually have issues with my eyes... More specifically, I have a blind spot in my left eye, directly on my macula (directly on the fovea, too, if you want to be technical).  

This blind spot means that I have no fine-tune vision in that left eye... which, in turns, means that writing, reading, beading, literally anything that I focus on, I am only seeing it with my right eye.

...And my right eye is exhausted.

Editing pictures, writing product descriptions, listing items, staring at the computer screen--all good and happy things, but I have learned that when my right eye asks for a break, I need to give it a break. I do not take my vision for granted, and just need to go offline for a little bit.

No reason for this one either...
But, dramatic sky is being dramatic!

So, there you go... a long winded explanation for why there won't be a reveal on Saturday and Sunday.
