It's November 30th! It's time for the final pair of earrings.
I started working on these earrings earlier this month, without much success. But, I'm excited to say that I figured out ring sizes that worked!
May I present a Japanese wave variation:
I didn't really have a pattern for this pair; I just sort of made it up. I'm sure others out there have made something like them but better, but I'm darn proud of them. Not bad for a chainmaille novice!
And with that, I have finished this month's challenge. Phew!
Thanks for stopping by today... Have a lovely day, everyone!

Day 29: Seed Bead Feathers
For today's earrings, I once more revisited my nemesis: seed beads.
...And, once again, I have happy things to show for it!
I present, seed bead feathers:
I have really enjoyed getting a chance to tackle things I don't normally play with this month--like chainmaille and seed beads and unique earwire shapes. I have one more day left in this challenge... I'm starting to think ahead to what I'm going to make for tomorrow's finale.
Have a wonderful Friday, everyone!

Day 27: Pretty Palettes Reveal
Here are today's earrings!
I actually made these to go with the necklace I made for this month's Pretty Palette Challenge:
Yay tassel!
...And now I'm off to go help make a Thanksgiving dinner. (We're celebrating a day early so that everyone can make it.) Sorry this is a short post--so much to do today!

Day 26: Earrings Remake
For today's earrings, I decided to remake a previous pair that I had made.
You see, I liked the concept of the earrings, but not really the execution... So, today, I decided to revisit them.
I didn't think to take a before-picture, but here is what they look like now!
Berry clusters hanging under green stems. :)
It is always fun to revisit things that I've made in the past and re-image them.
Thanks for stopping by today... Have a great day everyone!

Day 25: Neon Green Challenge
This morning, I asked my husband what color I should make today's earrings. He gave it a moment's thought, and then responded: "neon green."
Challenge. Accepted.
Little did he know that I actually have neon green Czech glass in my stash. Hah!
My first design idea was fairly straightforward, but then I decided to play around a little with it. This is what I came up with:
Are they perfect? Nope. Looking at them, I see all of their flaws. But, honestly, they were a lot of fun to make. I hardly ever use extra bright neon colors, so I enjoyed the opportunity to just have fun with it. I should branch out more often. :)

Day 24: Snowflakes and Czech Glass
For today's earrings, I just played around with beads on my bead mat until something came together.
I present: snowflakes!
Resting today, so that's going to be the extent of my commentary. Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been up to!

Day 23: Chainmaille Flowers
I'm struggling a bit today... Really not feeling all that great. Granted, everyone in my life is or has been sick recently, so this is not really a surprise. It just means that when I was figuring out what to make for today's earrings, I really had no clue.
After several different tries, this is what I ended up making:
They are helmsweave chainmaille flowers, complete with Swarovski crystal dangles. Oh, and fun fact: this is actually the exact same flower design that I turned into bead caps on Wednesday.
I need to buy more actual chainmaille rings... These are actually just jumprings, and they don't close quite as nicely. But, at least now I have another design in my repertoire.
And now I'm going to go take a nap.
Have a great day, everyone!

Day 22: Quick Bling
I spent the majority of today going to GalaxyCon in Louisville... which was a great deal of fun! I went with my best friend, and we had a wonderful time walking through Artists' Alley and talking with the amazing artists there.
However, that also meant that not much of today could be dedicated to making earrings.
So, here is what I was able to make this morning, in the few minutes I had before my friend showed up for the con:
Quick to make and super sparkly--I actually really like them. These pictures don't quite capture just how unique the color of those faceted glass is... it's a red-gold-copper-iridescent-iris color. They're really lovely!
Well, there you go. Thanks so much for stopping by today to see what I've been up to.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Day 21: Tried and True
For today's earrings, I tried to do something new and exciting.
It didn't work out.
I then tried something a little less new, but still exciting. That didn't work out, either.
So! I revisited a design I made years ago, that I knew I liked.
I originally made these to match House Nerreli--one of the Houses of the Noble Court featured in one of my novels. It's actually rather fitting, because today's NaNo writing dealt heavily with a character from that House.
I'll try my first idea again at some point... until then, though, I think these will do nicely. :)

Day 20: Chainmaille Beadcaps
Today's earrings are a lovely combination of vintage acrylic, Swarovski crystals, and chainmaille bead caps:
I was a bit late in making them today, so the lighting in my craft room wasn't all the best for pictures. Ah well. I'll try to maybe take more tomorrow and post updated ones. Regardless, I think these turned out quite well... I've reached the point in the month that I want to play around with more chainmaille ideas. :)

Day 19: Christmas Fringe
Today's earrings are a bit of a personal victory for me.
You see, I am not a seed beader. I have eye problems that cause me to have ridiculously horrible depth perception... and, as you can probably imagine, having poor depth perception makes it rather difficult to do anything really complicated with teeny tiny little seed beads.
But today, I really want to push myself outside of my comfort zone and give seed beads another chance.
This is what I came up with:
I am ridiculously happy with these. I watched one tutorial and then got to work, making up the pattern as I went along. Not bad for my first try. Oh, and I also made the earwires. :)
...I'm honestly already planning another pair of fringey-seedbead earrings. Heh. We'll see if my success was just beginner's luck, or if I'm really on to something now.

Day 18: More Fun with Wire
After yesterday's success with making my own earwires, I decided to try again today. This time, I tried a new shape that I've never done before.
Not too bad, if I say so myself. :)
If I keep this up, I'm going to need to invest in some new, better wire for doing these sorts of things more regularly!

Day 17: Wire and Pearl
Had a little extra time today, so I played around with making components for today's earrings--including connectors and earwires.
I'm pretty pleased with the results, not going to lie. :)

Day 16: Simple Stone
Still not feeling that great, so today's earrings are pretty simple.
These stone beads have a gorgeous matrix... you can see it a little better in the second picture.
I'm off to get some rest... hopefully I'll start feeling better soon.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Congratulations! I will be in touch with you to get your information so that I can send you your prize.
Thank you so much to everyone who entered! And thank you to everyone who comes by to read about my beading creations... I truly appreciate each and every one of you.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!
Day 15: We're All Ears Reveal
I made two pairs of earrings for today! They also just so happen to work for today's We're All Ears reveal as well. :)
This month's We're All Ears challenge, as put forward by the talented Erin Prais-Hintz, was to make earrings based on names produced by Random Name Generators. It is a wonderful idea, and the sample list she provided definitely got my brain creating:
I ended up picking two of those prompts--although, honestly, I want to go back and do them all.
So! Here is what I came up with:
Obsidian Queen
Violet Shadow
I am trying to articulate the creative process that went into making these pairs... Unfortunately, since I'm fighting off a cold, all I can think of right now is to say that they felt right. Still, hopefully you can see glimpses of the inspiration as well!

Day 14: Jingle Bells
I'm helping my best friend put up their Christmas tree today, so I thought I'd make something appropriate to wear while doing so:
Jingle Bells!
I even made a matching necklace this morning, as I was getting ready. *grin* (Didn't get pictures of that one, though... I'll try to remember to do so later.)
It's a yearly tradition we have: putting up the tree, eating lasagna, listening to Christmas music, laughing a lot. Hurray for festivities and friends, and enjoying each others' company.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Day 13: No Beads
My mini-challenge for myself was to make today's earrings without any beads.
...wire and trellis yarn to the rescue!
I've been wanting to play around with making more shaped wire components for my jewelry, and figured this was the perfect excuse to do so. What can I say? My new bail making pliers are my friend. :)
Thanks for stopping by today... Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Day 12: Bling!
I'm super tired today, so I did not get complicated when making today's earrings.
Instead, I just picked some chunky faceted glass teardrops/briolettes I had in my stash, and let them speak for themselves:
The glass is actually clear, but the coating on the back gives them a lovely AB finish.
So, there you go. Those are today's earrings. And now it's time for a nap. Or at least more coffee.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!
