Usually my posts to welcome the new month are a bit more reflective, as I think about the previous month and what I hope waits in the upcoming weeks. Today, though, I'm hitting the ground running.
Why? Because I have two challenges going this month!
The first one probably isn't a surprise... I am, once again, participating in National Novel Writing Month! What is National Novel Writing Month? It's the month when aspiring authors from all over the world attempt to write 50,000 words in a month. The whole idea is to just get the ideas on the page--write with abandon!--and edit later. You can only edit what has already been written, after all.
I'll be posting my progress here periodically--or you can check out my official NaNo profile (my username is anafiassa). I wrote 2,650 words yesterday, and plan to keep going strong!
So, that's my first challenge.
The second one is my Monthly Challenge... and for that, I plan to make a pair of earrings every day.

Yesterday, to kick things off, I actually made two pairs (seen above).
You might be wondering why I choose that for my Monthly Challenge. Well, I've noticed that I tend to treat earrings as an afterthought, as simple companion pieces. I almost always make earrings to go with a set, and very rarely to stand on their own.
So, I thought I would change that.
And, trust me, it's already proving to be a challenge!
Now, since this calls for an ongoing reveal, I'll be posting them here periodically, as well as on Instagram (surprise! once again, my username is anafiassa). I plan to do a big reflection post at the end of the month, too. After all, why not?
So, woo! Busy month is busy! Time to go create something!
