Day 10 is here! Woohoo!
Here is what I drew out of my Bag of Goodies for today:
You can't quite tell from that photo, but that is a little collection of wood and bone beads that I purchased from Scrap It Up, my local creative reuse center. (Creative reuse centers are absolutely wonderful... if you ever get a chance to visit one, I highly highly recommend it.)
Here is what everything looks like, once out of the bag:
See? Two big wood barrel beads, a handful of carved bone beads, and a metallic round bead.
From this little collection, I made two pairs of earrings.
For this first pair of earrings, I used only the beads from the bag:
These are actually the earrings I had in mind when I bought that little collection. As soon as I saw the beads, I knew that I wanted to make these. How delightful that they turned out exactly like I imagined!
For the second pair of earrings, I used two more of the bone beads--and some fun resin and wood drops I recently added to my stash:
Long and dangly, with a nice juxtaposition of sleek modernity (the charms) and rustic earthiness (the bone beads).
And, for fun, here are the two pairs of earrings next to each other:
I had hoped to use everything out of the bag, but I have two bone beads and the metallic silver bead left. I currently have no ideas for them, but we'll see... if I leave them on my bead table long enough, I'm sure inspiration will strike.
Thanks so much for stopping by today... come by tomorrow for Day 11!
I have become skeptical of long earrings as I get older. But they look so striking.
