On today's worktable, I have more shells pendants.
These are shells that I picked up from Calvert Cliffs, on the Chesapeake Bay. It's a Maryland state park known for having lots of fossils... and while I didn't find that many fossils, I did find these!
I am so ready to take this thumb immobilizer off and start making jewelry again. Ah well. In the meantime, these shell pendants have been keeping me busy. I am very grateful for that.
Thanks so much for stopping by... Have a lovely day, everyone!

Friday's Worktable
Just so you know, I'm going to be talking about my recent trip to the beach for awhile.
...Don't say that you weren't warned. Heh.
And honestly, can you blame me? This is one of the sunsets from when I was there... and it was even more magical and glorious than this picture can convey:
I have always loved the Atlantic Ocean... it can be broody and temperamental, but still absolutely gorgeous. Growing up in the Mid-Atlantic region spoiled me, I think... now that I'm back to being land-locked in the Midwest, I'm reminded just how much I miss water.
So, this week, I have been reminiscing about waves and ocean fog and the smell of the surf... and cleaning off the shells I picked up on the beach:
I even decided to turn some of my favorites into pendants.
First, I picked out which ones I thought would work well:
Then I coated them, to make them just a little bit stronger (added bonus: the coating gives them the same look as when they're wet):
...And then I glued on bails:
Simple, and beautiful, and something I could do with one hand. Yay!
I'll probably make more of these at some point... I really love how they turned out. I also picked out some shells to wire-wrap--but I need to wait until next month, when I can use my left hand again, to do that. Still, not too bad for a one-handed craft! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! And, to those who celebrate it: Happy Easter!

Another Happy Reveal!
Hurray! I finally get to share one of the things that I was working on really hard last month. Namely:
Isn't that happy?!
To see the Spotlight itself, go here: April's Designer Spotlight
...And, because I can't help myself, here are just a few of the projects that I made for it:
Yep, I was definitely busy last month! But oh, I had a lot of fun. Thanks to Molly Schaller and the team over at Halcraft for asking me to participate... and thank you, happy readers, for letting me share! :)
...So much fun.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Thursday's Check-In
Well, since I haven't been able to make any jewelry this month, here is what I've been up to this week:
A vacation at the beach.
Technically, I'm in Maryland visiting my parents... But, they decided to go on a little mini-vacation to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. And they took me with them. Woo!
So, pardon my scarcity... I'm enjoying my vacation.
(Technically I'm back from the beach now, but tomorrow I get to go fossil hunting with my best friend at Calvert Cliffs... I'm so excited! Fun times all around!)
Thanks so much for checking up on me... Have a wonderful week, everyone!

Hello, April!
Well, this is not really how I wanted this month to start.
Despite my best efforts, apparently I didn't rest my wrist/hand enough last month. After putting it off, I finally went to the doctor yesterday, and learned the name for what has been giving me so much trouble: de Quervain's tenosynovitis.
And I have to wear this thing for the next 4 weeks.
...Gah!
What does that mean for this blog? I will still be around, hopefully... but, I have to limit use of my left hand as much as possible, so who knows what I'll actually be doing. (I am right handed, but golly I use that left hand for a lot!) And that means that, this month, I'm going to have the hardest monthly challenge of all: not make any jewelry!
Bleh. I'm not looking forward to this.
So! Thanks for stopping by today... I hope your month brings you beautiful things, and happy memories. And remember to take care of yourself! :)
