Wow... sometimes it feels like they don't make months as long as they used to.
Still, the last friday of June is a good thing... because that means it's time to reveal what I made for this month's Jenny Monthly Challenge! To jog your memory, here's the kit that I chose:
Lampwork by Julsbeads, vintage pearls, Chinese crystals--oh my! |
And, without further ado, here is what I made!
Yep... it's a necklace and a matching pair of earrings! |
I have to admit that, after last month's kumihimo, it was nice to sit down and do something a bit more conventional. It still had its challenges, to be sure--figuring out how to make a bail for the key, switching out different chains until I got one to work--but overall it flowed very nicely.
And after the lemonade debacle, it was nice to have something go right for a change!
And now for some vanity shots!
First, the earrings...
...And next, the necklace!
I really, really like the elegant feel of this piece--the brass and the gold and the cream, the contrast of the sparkly crystals with the creamy vintage pearls and handmade lampwork.
Originally, I was going to say that I want to find the perfect occasion to wear this set of jewelry... But, honestly, why wait? I think it will be just lovely any time I decide to wear it.
So, there you go! Thanks so much for stopping by... I really appreciate you joining me on my journey, as I challenge myself to grow.
And, guess what?
I have a whole new challenge lined up for July--and I can't wait to share it!
Until then, have a wonderful weekend!
