Feelin' Fruity... and Nostalgic

Hello everyone!

...I miss this blog. Call me nostalgic, but I was reading through some of my older entries and realizing just how much I appreciate having this record of my jewelry making journey. And what a journey it's been!

You know, I started this blog in 2009, on July 20th. That means it'll be coming up on its 15th anniversary in just a couple weeks. Imagine that! Maybe I'll do something to celebrate. That could be fun, if life allows.

Since this is a jewelry blog, here's what currently on my beadmat: fruit!
Czech glass fruit, to be precise.
They're going to be turned into a necklace, using this tutorial as inspiration.
I realize that practically no one really reads personal blogs anymore, preferring things like Instagram and Facebook. And that's fine, of course! I just realize that I like this format... having more of a place to write and explore, and not necessarily have to battle the algorithms. I tend to put a lot of thought into my jewelry designs, and it's nice to have a place to really delve into that.

So, for all of you who have stuck around: thank you. I really appreciate knowing that you're there. I would like to promise to come back here more regularly, but we'll see what ends up happening. Every time I say that, something else comes up or breaks or becomes complicated. But it is nice to dream, isn't it?

Stay shiny, my friends. I appreciate you being there. May your days be joyful and full of things that make you smile.

Take care, everyone!

  1. I miss the time when lots of jewellery and crafts blogs were around. I miss the friends that I made through blogging (some of whom I have spoken to or even met in real life). Social media is fine but I hope that blogs sustain and thrive once again in the near future. Until then, lets keep writing.
